Xenoblade Chronicles X

Some of you might remember Xenogears. We talked about it in the past. Well if you do let me tell you that you my friend have played one of the best RPG ever made and you can not miss this one.

                                                        Xenoblade Chronicles X!!!!

Xenoblade Chronicles X comes from a long line of greatness. Xenogears 1998 (PSone), Then came the Xenosaga Trilogy 2003- 2006 (PS2). Then came Xenoblade Chronicles 2011 (Wii) and 2015 (New3DS), And last in the Xeno Family is Xenoblade Chronicles X 2015 (WiiU).

The Xeno series comes from the brilliant mind of Tetsuya Takahashi. Takahashi formed part of team Squaresoft and then co-founded Monolith Soft.

Well let me tell you a little something. Kind of personal....... Im a huge fan ofXenogears, I have played all 3Xenosaga games and played theXenoblade Chronicles on both the Wii and N3DS. But wasn't to eager to playChronicles XWhy You ask? For starters the game was announced on E3 2013, I bought a WiiU that didn't had an extensive library at that time. So my WiiU became a dust gathering machine........ I sold not one but two WiiU, gave them so cheap it was embarrassing. But then one Good friend (lets call him Satan) started posting videos of the game. Then it came the magic moment December 2015, he got the game...... And he started posting pictures of the views and the creatures. Well long story short I got another WiiU and here we are. Back to the topic please!!!

The story goes like this. In the year 2054, as two alien races had a huge war near Earth, causing the destruction of the planet. Humanity is forced to escape extinction in gigantic interstellar ark ships, one from every major city on the planet, but only the American Los Angeles ship, the White Whale, and a small fleet, manage to escape before the planet is destroyed. Then your story begins. Did I mention you have no memory of this???
White Whale

Xenoblade Chronicles X is a Spiritual Successor to Xenoblade Chronicles. I haven't found anything that connects each other. With the exception of one Lovely Accessory that one of the characters had.
Lin Lee Koo
There is no Main character as for the other Xeno Games. In this game you are the main character. Yup, you create a Silent type hero and by luck everything revolves around you.

This game is so huge that you can get lost between the gorgeous views and the action. The battle system is really easy to master. But the Class System is something that you might want to explore deeply.

In time you will get control of one mean machine called SKELL from the word Exo-Skeleton. This beauty can turn into a vehicle for fast travel between creatures you might want to stay clear off or they can be just awesome means of destruction.

Skell

Vehicle Mode

Vehicle mode Varies on Skell type!!!
There is a full cast of characters in the game that you can befriend to get some nifty equipment for you and your Skells. Some missions require that you get to know this people, travel with them and grow closer to them. That way you uncover their past and build your future. Don't get me wrong we are not talking about three or six characters. I have found nine recruit-able characters and counting. Not to mention the online feature where you can add other players avatars to your team. You can even make a list of your favorites, that way when you are stuck in a boss you can recruit some friends and get it done.
Some Playable Characters

The Story is Awesome, the Music is Awesome, the Graphics, Controls the whole game is as awesome as his predecessors. If you have not played this Game I don't know what are you waiting for. Here is a Video of the Game to make you think it better!!!!

That's all for today, this is -N- inviting you to get busy in the World of Xenoblade Chronicles X!!!

Outlast

Since the beginning of the gaming era, developers have struggled to make a game that actually scared the hell out of us. Some have attempted it and all though the suspense is there, that thrill we get out of true horror has failed to be there. If we try to search for video games that fall under the  "scary" category, a few names come to mind such as; Resident EvilSilent HillFatal FrameDead IslandLeft 4 Dead and many more. They managed to keep us tense, but none have managed to have us at the edge of our seats quite like the mother of all the scary video game genera! Outlast!!

This game is freaking scary. Who in his right mind enters an "abandoned" Mental Home? You that's who!

Outlast is a first-person survival/horror video game, developed and published by Red Barrels, a company founded by programmers previously involved with video game franchises such as Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and Uncharted. It was released on September 4, 2013 for Microsoft Windows, on February 4, 2014 for PlayStation 4 and on June 18, 2014 for Xbox One.

You can enter....... Can you get out?
Miles..... Not his best Moment.
Miles Upshur: The protagonist of the game. A freelance journalist (With Iron Guts) whom uncovers secrets which resides within Mount Massive Asylum.

Miles goes inside the Asylum armed only with his HD Camera... Yes, not an 9mm or an AK47. Just a recording device and 2AA batteries. Talk about crazy people! Ohh did I mention he goes in at Night?! I guess they no longer enforce visiting hours there.

Miles, receives an anonymous tip from a source identified only as a Whistle-blower. The lead tells of inhumane experiments committed at Mount Massive Asylum, a remote psychiatric hospital situated deep in the mountains of Lake County, Colorado and owned by the Murkoff Corporation, who is known for its corrupt dealings. Entering the asylum, Upshur is horrified to discover the mutilated corpses of the staff, including a dying SWAT officer who warns him to get out while he still can. As he investigates further, Upshur finds the asylum's patients, known as "Variants", freely roaming the grounds being hostile towards him, particularly a hulking sadist named Chris Walker. Approached by Father Martin Archimbaud, a cult leader who considers himself a priest, tells Upshur he was sent by "God" to be his witness to the night's events. It soon becomes clear that Archimbaud has no intention of letting Miles escape, and that he worships a seemingly supernatural entity known only as The Walrider, which he claims caused the breakout.

Father Martin Archimbaud

Father Martin Archimbaud: He considers himself a "priest" and helps Upshur throughout the game..... Or does he??

Chris L. Walker

Chris L. Walker: The largest and strongest of the Variants. Walker pursues Upshur relentlessly throughout the game. This friendly fellow just wants to hug you and play with you.

As the game progress you will find more and more "friendly" FACES like this fellow. They can be a little dramatic. Lets be real, this place is Hell. You don't know where or when some psycho deformed Variant will emerge and try to cut your head of. The music is awesome too. Some times there is an ominous music just to scare the hell out of you. But were you should be really scared is when silence fill the rooms

There is a lot of Darkness, which can be troublesome. Your Camera is equipped with a night vision feature, but your battery will be depleted faster...... No Camera NO chance in Hell!!!!!!

Variant

Variants: Hostile patients and inmates that roam the halls. These guys are vegetables at first but at some point they turn into Killing Machines. You don't have ways to stop them. But they will give chase until you escape or they catch you.

They were patients and staff from the Asylum and experiments have turn them into this grotesque figures.

Please do not Disturb!!!
Some people tried to play the game in total Darkness... HERE is how it went for them. LOL!

I have seen the video a couple of times. And I remember my own fear going through the Asylum. If you are not scared yet. Try the game and tell us about your experience!

Outlast has a DLC. Whistleblower, developed and published by Red Barrels Games. It is the prequel to Outlast, revealing the reasons of the Mount Massive Asylum outbreak. XXXX.SPOILER ALERT XXXX It also shows the true ending to the asylum after Miles . It was released for PlayStation 4 and PC on May 6th, 2014, and for Xbox One on June 18th, 2014.
Similar to its predecessor, combat is impossible and the player must either run or hide from their enemies in order to stay alive. The players can hide in various spots in order to avoid their pursuers, such as nearby lockers, under the bed, in various corners or simply blending in with the darkness. Closing doors will impede enemies and squeezing through small spaces can lose them. Certain scripted events will require a specific action from the player. The only item the player has access to is his camcorder, which is automatically acquired after the main character breaks out of his holding cell. The camcorder is battery operated and comes with a night vision function which is used to navigate through dark areas. Batteries can be found in various spots, usually nearby electronic devices, such as radios, Walkie-talkies, etc. While the camcorder is up and filming, the character will write his thoughts in a notebook. Along the game, the player can pick up various documents, scattered throughout the asylum, that provide a background story for some of the characters. The documents appear as blue folders with "CONFIDENTIAL" stamped on the front. Aside from scavenging batteries and finding documents, certain tasks will require for the player to retrieve a key. If you played thought the main game, you must get the DLC.

That's all for Outlast. This is -N- here daring you to be scared as hell in the Mount Massive Asylum!

Let's go Old School

 Let's Talk Old School!!!

Yes people we are talking about XENOGEARS!!!!!!

Xenogears is a science-fiction role-playing video game developed and published by Squaresoft (now Square Enix) for Sony's PlayStation. It was released on February 11, 1998 in Japan later on that same year on October 20, 1998 it was released in North America. It was re-released by Squaresoft under a  Greatest Hits title in 2003, and on the PlayStation Network on June 25, 2008 for Japan users and on February 22, 2011 it was released in North America.

Ever since 1998 everyone was expecting a New Xenogears fallowing the plot of the original; sadly enough this would not come to happen as his creator Tetsuya Takahashi left Squaresoft later on the same year it was released 1998 along with Hirohide Sugiura, another key person Xenogears creation process. Using funds from Namco, they started MonolithSoft along with the Xenosaga project.

Two years later in March 2000 Sony released the Playstation 2 console. The PS2 was to rapidly become  the best selling console selling over 155 million units, later that year MonolithSoft was to release Xenosaga Episode 1.   The Xenosaga series serves as a spiritual successor to the game Xenogears. Episode 2 would come on in 2004 and Episode 3 in 2006. Later on MonolithSoft in collaboration with Nintendo came together to create Xenoblade Chronicles released on 2010; however it did not get to North America until 2012.There's big hype about a new Xenoblade coming out soon, but we have to wait until 2015.

BUT WE ARE TALKING OLD SCHOOL XENOGEARS HERE!!!!!!

If you don't know Xenogears here is some of the storyline behind it!

Xenogears centers around its protagonist, Fei Fong Wong, a young man in the village of Lahan. Fei was brought there by a mysterious "masked man" three years ago while gravely wounded, he was then adopted by the village chief, Chief Lee. The events that lead to Fei's grave injuries before his arrival at the village, have caused him to have retrograde amnesia.

The story is really long, but not long enough to put you to sleep. The Battle system is not as simple as just pressing one button, as you progress and level up, you get more combos. Can you master each character?

This Is Fei Fong Wong (Heck of a Name) Fei is the main Character of the story. He's a very skilled Martial Arts Fighter, Fei can't remember much about his past. But trust me when I say he sure knows how to Fight.
Weltall is Fei's Gear, The Black Gear has many secrets. One of them is a series of Black Boxes that can be found inside of him. No one Knows what are they for. But you will find out later in the Story!

He........ He is simply Called ID. OMG he is Awesome. I will NOT tell you who or why but he is one of the Many things that will keep you wanting to go further and further into the Story.

Weltall-Id

This guy here is Citan Uzuki, Dr Uzuki is one of Fei's companions. He is kind of a Pandoras Box full of secrets. On foot, Citan is one of the best fighters in the game, first displaying a blindingly swift hand to hand combat style and, upon regaining his sword, a sword style similar to that of Iaido. Citan's gear is Heimdal.
The Sand Pirate Bart. Bartholomew Fatima nicknamed Bart, is leader of a group of sand pirates who ravage the desert in their sand cruiser, the Yggdrasil. He uses Whips to atack his pray. He Pilots Brigandier.
These are three of the Nine playable characters. All of them with their own set of Combos and Abilities. To me, this is my top team!

Xenogears is a great game for that first generation of gamers born in in the 80's. If not, it is definitely a must play! You can have it rally cheap if you have a PSVita System. Just go to PSN and buy it.

Xenogears Characters
This particular game offers countless hours of game play, secrets to discover and more. You won't find this kind of game for the next gen consoles. At least not yet. Click HERE to see the intro video to this Awesome Game.

This is -N- telling you Let's Talk Old School Games!!!

The Legend of Drizzt!

Hi Gamers!
Today we want to show you something special. I recently got my hands on this Awesome Board Game.

This game got my attention almost a month ago, yesterday I finally got my hands on it. Trust me it was worth the long wait.

 What’s In The Box?

Legend of Drizzt comes in a fairly large game box that includes 40 detailed (but unpainted) miniatures, 200 standard sized cards, 8 cardboard double sided hero cards, 4 double sided villain cards, 1 rulebook, 1 scenario book, 32 interlocking cavern tiles, 4 double sized interlocking tiles, 22 interlocking cavern edge tiles, 1 20 sided Die, and enough cardboard bits to keep the logging industry in business. All this gaming goodness ships in a nice, form fitting, compartmentalized, plastic tray and can be yours for the MSRP of $64.99.

Legend of Drizzt comes with 40 detailed but unpainted plastic miniatures. They are cool looking Heroes, Monsters and villains that with a little patience and a steady hand you can turn from simple plastic to some realistic creature. Like this ones HERE.
After and Before

Set Up
Players select one of the adventures from the Adventure book, making sure to follow any special set up instructions for that adventure.

  • Each of the turns the play decks are shuffled and put within easy reach of every player.
  • Unless the Adventure says otherwise, place the Start Tile in the center of the table and place two Healing Surge tokens within easy reach of all the players. These are the group’s healing surges for this Adventure.
  • Each player selects from one of the eight 1st-level Heroes and decides which Power Cards to use for that Hero.
  • Each hero is placed on the start tile, unless of course the adventure states otherwise.
  • Each Hero draws a Treasure Card, drawing and discarding until they obtain a Treasure Card with an item on it.
  • Set up the Cavern Tile stack (the deck of tiles) using the setup instructions in the Adventure you have selected. The Adventure will advise of any additional rules you need in the “Special Adventure Rules” section, or any rules that change the core game rules.

Each game turn is broken down into 3 specific phases that must be fully completed in order before the next player can begin their turn.

 Hero Phase

  1.  If your Hero has 0 Hit Points, use a Healing Surge token if one is available.
  2.  Perform one of the following actions:

✦  Move and then make an Attack.
           ✦ Attack and then Move.
           ✦ Make two Moves.

Once this phase is completed move on to the next phase.

 Exploration Phase

  1.  If your Hero occupies a square along an unexplored edge, go on to Step 2. If your Hero doesn’t occupy a square along an unexplored edge, go on to the Villain Phase.
  2. Draw a Dungeon Tile and place it with its triangle pointing to the unexplored edge of the tile your Hero is exploring from.
  3. Place a Monster on the new tile.

Once this phase is completed move on to the next phase.

 Villain Phase

  1.  If you didn’t place a Dungeon Tile in your Exploration Phase, or if you placed a Dungeon Tile with a  black triangle, draw and play an Encounter Card.
  2.  If the Villain is in play, activate the Villain.
  3. Activate each Monster and Trap Card, in turn, in the order you drew them making sure to follow the tactics on each respective card.

Play then moves on to the next players turn. (This set up was taken from the Official WOTC Site)

We talked about the miniatures. There are 40 of them From Heroes to Villains and Monsters.

First we have our Feral Trolls and Goblins, we have some Hunting Drakes too, Archer Goblins a Goblin Champion and Goblin Cutters. This Nasty little creatures may look weak. Bust trust me they can be a pain.

Now here we have Some Drow Duelists, The Drow Wizard, Swarms, The Shadow Dragon and Dinin she is a Half Spider Half Drow and a merciless Creature.

Here we have our Water Elementals and some Hypnotic Spirits.

Here we have our Villains. The Mercenary, The Assassin, Methil el Viddenvelp (Heck of a Name), Yochlol (some kind of creature with a Huge eye) and Yvonnel Baenre Matron Mother. Some of these are playable characters. Yes that means you can be Hero or Villain. That is a really cool. Just think of this. The story begins with five adventurers. And at some point some one will betray the group. At the end that betrayal could have been a false cover for the completion of the Quest. Or simply was a cruel way to show the players that you can't trust anyone!

Here we have Errtu, Balor. Now we know what happened to Gandalf. But we never really knew the were about of his Lava Diving Companion. Now we do. (JK lol) This dude here is HUGE  and does not occupy squares on the map, he occupies entire Tiles. He has some devastating AOE attacks and his AC is really challenging.

And now here they are. The Heroes of this Board Game.  Drizzt The Drow Ranger, Athogate a Dwarf Battlerager, Bruenor Battlehamer Dwarf Fighter, Cattie-Brie Human Archer, Regis Halfling Rouge and Wulfgar Human Barbarian. The Panther is Drizzt's pet companion.

The Basic game is really easy once you get the hang of it. I played the Solo adventure and it went like this. I had a lot of fun and can't wait to start a new Solo adventure or with some companions.

That's all for now on The Legend of Drizzt. -N- here telling you see you soon and Let's talk Board Games!

Natural Doctrine

People from Nis-America have kept this game out of our reach until recently. Japan had this game and they handled it like babies... Yes they cried and said that the game was too difficult... Have you ever heard of something like that? They even went as far as asking for an easy game mode! As any other gamer out there, I am intrigued. Is there such a thing as an game that is impossible to beat? Well we have Dark Souls, and even that one is not that hard once you get the hang of it. They say that this game is the Dark Souls of the tactics genre. Introducing:

Natural Doctrine introduces players in a fictional world that revolves around a substance known as Pluton. Adventurers plunder Pluton from dangerous underground caverns, but there are evil and dangerous beasts, monsters, and more standing in between them and their loot. As evil follows these explorers to the surface, it's up to them to protect the city of Feste from destruction.

Jeff:   The young male protagonist, who uses one and two handed swords, in additions to guns.

Vasilisa: A young female guard soldier, and a comrade of Jeff.

Anca: Girl with a long blonde ponytail, and a leader of the tunnel pathfinder brigade. Skilled at generalship and medical assistance, and fights with a rifle.

These were just three of the up until now nine characters of the game.

The game is a fantasy simulation-type RPG based along the concept of natural selection. The game features single and multi-player modes with versus and co-operative play, and is cross-play and cross-save compatible. The game story-line is shown from the perspective of Jeff, the main protagonist, who is accompanied by two women named Vasilisa and Anca. Combat will be based on a turn-based battle system, and a primary concept of game-play is to have large numbers of allies and enemies simultaneously on a large size battlefield. Time can be controlled dynamically, and units can be controlled in a single space. Units in combat against one another form encampments, where units are able to return to camp at the end of the turn as long as the encampment isn't destroyed.

It may take some time to get used to this. But trust me if you have played other Tactics or Strategy game you wont have a hard time with this.

These Little Creatures as seen in videos are not that hard. But they can be a pain in the rear when they are in a group.

I have seen a lot of reviews for this game. The all had something in common..... The Game is HARDlol. So this is what you will have to expect from this game: DEATH, Death to all the human Race!!!

Natural Doctrine comes out September, 30-14 for the PS4, PSVita and PS3. Sorry to inform the Xbox One players won't be able to participate . So I suggest getting one of the available systems so you can experience the HARDEST tactics RPG ever!

Here is the Trailer of Natural Doctrine  Enjoy!

Well this is all for now -N- here from Game Theology to your computer asking you: Will you be able to handle Natural Doctrine?
